About
Derek Wallace has worked in the film and television industry for thirty years, the last twenty as a Production Designer. His unique style and budget management ensures that he remains one of the busiest Production Designers in the industry today.
Based in Dublin, his recent work includes TV drama series KIN for BRON Studios/AMC, Hidden Assets for Facet 4 Media/Acorn TV, Blood(2 series) for Company Pictures/Acorn TV, Murder at the Cottage for SKY, The Knight before Christmas for Netflix and The Dry for Element Pictures, Rebellion for Element Pictures/Touchpaper Television.
His career as a Production Designer started when director John Boorman asked him to design The General starring Jon Voight and Brendan Gleeson. Derek collaborated with John on three more films; The Tailor of Panama, In My Country and Two Nudes Bathing. Other work includes The Secret Scripture directed by Jim Sheridan, staring Rooney Mara, Eric Bana and Vanessa Redgrave; John Banville’s The Sea directed by Stephen Brown; and Good Vibrations, which film critic Mark Kermode said was on his top ten films of all time.
