Thomas McKeown is a cinematographer with bases in both Belfast and London.
His debut feature film The Wise Guy, directed and written by Sam O’Mahony with production company Out Of Orbit (Derry Girls), had its world premiere recently at the Galway Film Fleadh 2024.
He has shot many acclaimed short films including the award winning The Carer for director Sam Nutt and Silent People for Keith O’Grady. He has collaborated with early career directors including Dean Conway on his BFI Award nominated Double Vodka and Blackcurrant and some notable theatre directors moving into film including Emily Foran (Little Women), Eimear Fearon and Caitlin Kerns.
Thomas has also worked as the main aerial camera operator for ‘Cinecopters‘ on several big budget major series including AMC’s Into The Badlands, BBC’s Line of Duty and recently Tim Burton’s season two of Wednesday.
