Tom has composed for many of Ireland’s foremost theatre, dance and opera companies and is a founding member of Ulysses Opera Theatre. He has been nominated for six Irish Times Theatre Awards, including Best Opera for The Stalls and Front of House, and Best Soundscape for Whitby.
His recent work includes composition and Musical Director for The Weir at the Abbey Theatre, composition and sound design for The Blackwater Lightship at Gaiety Theatre, composition for The Tragedy of Macbeth at Ameida Theatre, composition and sound design for Yaël Farber’s Hamlet at Gate Theatre and St Ann’s Warehouse NYC, and Annabelle Comyn’s Look Back in Anger, also for Dublin’s Gate Theatre. He composed music for choreographer Hannes Langolf’s new physical theatre piece Unruhe at Theater Trier and Backstage, a new opera commissioned by Cork Opera House.
